Scalp Micropigmentation FAQ

What is scalp micropigmentation?

Scalp micropigmentation is a hair follicle replication process that helps people suffering from different types of hair loss. We use our specially designed pigments and unique application to replicate hair follicles in your scalp. This treatment is non-invasive and requires no surgery. Our procedure is much more affordable and produces better results than other hair replacement medications or practices.

What is the cost?

The cost usually runs between $2000-$4000 depending on the hair loss.  All treatments are priced individually based on the exact requirements of each client. You can come by the office anytime for a FREE consultation.

How long does the procedure last?

The procedure will require a minimum of 3-5 sessions. The first session  will take roughly 3-5 hours, then around 2-4 hours for the second session and beyond. We offer a complete guarantee on any fading and a 1-year guarantee on touch-ups for hairline alteration or fading.

What is the difference between scalp micropigmentation and a regular head tattoo?

Although it may be referred to as a hair tattoo, scalp micropigmentation is quite different. The needles that we use are 80% smaller than a traditional tattoo needle. All of your needles are single use. We do not re-use needles! The inks are either carbon or charcoal based. They have not constituent colors, which's means they will not turn blue or green over time like traditional tattoo inks.

What is the pain level like?

Everyone is different, but when we speak with our clients they usually rate the pain level  at a 2 or 3 out of 10.

Can you explain what occurs when the pigmentation needle machine goes into the scalp?

Our follicle shaped needle implants into the epidermis, never reaching the dermis. The skin is made of up a matrix of cross fibers that have Lumen within the cells. The lumens allow the ink to deposit into the dermis and stay consistent in size and shape.

Will people be able to tell I have had this treatment done?

The look we provide is unbelievably realistic. If you don’t tell them, they won’t know. Our procedure has the age-renewing aesthetics to make the hair of someone who is balding look younger and improve their overall appearance.

How will I look immediately after the procedure?

Following the treatment, there is a redness for anywhere between 12-24 hours, depending on your skin type. The pigment’s initial color will appear darker after the procedure, getting to your ideal color will only take up to 1-2 weeks.

How quickly can I make a face-to-face appointment?

Consultation times depends on availability and your proximity to our clinic. If you are not located close to our clinic, we can arrange a telephone consultation.

How soon after the initial consultation can the treatment be scheduled?

After you have had an initial consultation, we can move forward and book your first treatment. Appointment times are arranged based on availability. We will always aim to accommodate all of our clients’ schedules.

What is the average time between sessions?

We always suggest to our clients to wait at least six days after their initial treatment to have a second session. Each procedure will require a minimum of 3 sessions.

How long will my head take to fully heal after the procedure?

We provide specific post-care protocols that should be followed for the first week and thereafter. Your body’s own healing ability will determine when your scalp is fully healed. You will be a little red the day of the procedure, but you will be able to live normally and even go to work the day after.

If I am unhappy after my treatment, or if I need touch-ups, how much would this cost me?

Most clients are completely satisfied after two or three visits. If there are concerns with your final results, we will make it right.

Do you offer a satisfaction guarantee?

Client satisfaction is our main concern. We want to make sure you get the results you want. If there are any concerns, we are always happy to address them.

Can scalp micropigmentation disguise scars?

Yes, we blend the scar with surrounding hair and it becomes almost impossible to notice.

Do I need to shave my head before the procedure?

Every case is different. After viewing images of your scalp, we will make sure you are prepared and fully informed before your procedure.

How long do I have to wait before I can shave my head?

We would suggest about four or five days. We also recommend an electric foil shaver for the first few shaves after your treatment. We recommend you wait at least 1-2 weeks before you shave with a razor.

What should I be cautious of in the days following my treatment?

In the first four days following your treatment, you must avoid getting your scalp wet. This includes both washing the treatment areas and sweating in the treatment areas. When showering, ensure that neither water nor shampoo does not reach your scalp. Avoid activities that may cause you to sweat, such as running, weightlifting, and over-exposure to the sun. Going about normal daily work and home activities in the first four days is fine, so long as they do not cause you to sweat on the treatment area
